A Dewhurst's Silk 3 drawer wooden sewing thread storage and display box.
This countertop haberdashery drawers is made of painted wood and features the signature "Dewhurst's Silk" and "Three Shells" branding to the top. The drawers each retain the original black pull knob handles and the middle drawer reads "Dewhurst Sylko'".
These drawers were found through the 1930s in local shops and haberdashery stores to hold and sell sewing cottons. The boxes were designed to store the cottons while also catching the eye of passerby customers and advertising the iconic sewing threads.
This box also comes with vintage a small selection of Silk branded thread reels with labelled ends showing the thread numbers and branding.
Drawers like these are now ideal for storing craft supplies, sewing equipment and threads / cottons in craft and hobby rooms. They're also great collectors items for anyone interested in haberdashery items, antique advertising and wooden storage drawers.
