A lovely little children's toy doll trunk / suitcase. Used for many years by children, this trunk would have been full of toys and clothes for dolls and figurines.
The wooden box is adorned with metal coverings on the corners, to protect it from wear and tear while further creating the resemblance of it being a trunk / suitcase.
The outside is a peachy colour and green with two sides showing differing, Victorian style scenes. One shows two children playing hand games and a child sitting with a white cat. The other side shows children out with their mother looking surprised at seeing a boy asleep under a tree with a girl standing next to him, geese and an owl - next to there are an alphabet chart and rhyme.
The case opens up to reveal two nurses rhyme illustrations on paper. One side features "Ding Dong Bell" and the other shows "Little Miss Muffet".
The trunk has a carry handle at the top and a clasp mechanism which keeps it securely shut.
A really nice collectors item or display box. Would look lovely in a nursery or children's bedroom or displayed in a cabinet with other vintage toys and games.
