This wonderful piece features a removable glass front panel door, painted with the word “FROMAGES”, (meaning cheeses) and some cow depictions. The sides are fitted with a yellow wire mesh ventilation panels, allowing air circulation and adding considerably to its authentic French country character.
The combination of aged timber, glass and wire mesh gives this cheese keeper a wonderfully rustic appearance, with plenty of natural charm. A lovely example of traditional French kitchen and farmhouse storage, often associated with a cave à fromage.
Although originally intended for cheese storage, it would now make a fantastic decorative kitchen display piece.
