Vintage Complete Set of Hand Painted Wooden Soldier Bowling Skittles / Pins

A complete set, this set of nine hand-painted, turned wooden skittles are bursting with character.

Painted in a striking red and blue colours, the skittles and painted to resemble British Palace Guards. Each have red tunics with yellow 'button' details, blue trouser bases and tall black bearskin hats. Each figure is carved and decorated with high detail and are in their matching uniforms.

Enjoyed as a parlour game, the skittles are designed to be lined up in a triangle or diamond form and a ball rolled at them in an attempt to knock them down. The winner is whoever knocks the most amount over. These would have been favoured children's toys and now make for a lovely nursery / children's room shelf decor.

Highly decorative, these are great collectors items to be displayed in a home or vintage style interior. Also a great item to showcase in a vintage retro toyshop.
