A great example of a highly collectable piece of Austrian / West German pottery.
The base is marked Austria rather than West Germany.
Austrian marked ceramics that look like West German ceramics were made by Carstens in Germany. It’s known that Carstens had a sales office or branch in Austria (as well as Australia, Brazil and even Chile!), and it may have been easier to export their wares to certain countries if they were not marked ‘Germany’
I have seen other examples of this design marked W.Germany to the base.
Decorated in striking yellow and green colours.
Height 40cm
Condition - Very good. No chips, crack or repairs.
