Vintage Advertising Shop Counter Display Stand Colgate Dental Cream Basket 1950s

This vintage Colgate dental cream with Gardol shop display stand is a wonderful example of period retail advertising, this piece was originally used in shops to promote and display the iconic canned pies.

Constructed from metal, the counter display basket is lined with a light blue paper / card which has the recognisable 'Colgate' wording printed on all sides. Its compact tabletop form made it ideal for shop displays, helping to maximise visibility and encourage sales.

Colgate is a highly recognised brand and the use of Gardol was prominent throughout the 1950s as a marketing campaign. Gardol was an anti-decay ingredient that was heavily featured at this time. 

Both functional and highly decorative, this display stand is ideal for collectors of vintage advertising or memorabilia.
