Mid Century Ironstone Shop Display Butcher's Ham Stand for C & T Harris Antique

An antique white ironstone butchers ham stand, featuring green letter for "C. & T. Harris" along the base. 

Stands like this were used in butcher shop windows to display ham joints or gammon. The words "C. & T. Harris" printed along the base is advertising the famous British bacon and ham curing company that was based in Wiltshire. The stand would have held products by this company, proudly advertising the produce and encouraging sales. 

The base is backstopped with a green mason's Patent Ironstone mark, an English ceramic manufacturer based in Staffordshire. 

A lovely collectors item for anyone interested in kitchenalia items, ceramics and antique advertising.
