The timetable comes in an original distinctive red textured cover with elegant gilt lettering and the GWR crest, the booklet was originally sold for sixpence (as outlined on the front cover) and designed for everyday passengers and staff to use. Inside, it contains detailed train schedules and service information, offering a unique snapshot of rail travel during this time.
Notably due to the wartime period it was published, this edition does not include maps - reflecting paper shortages and wartime restrictions and security measures. The contents provide insight into how the rail network operated under wartime conditions, adding historical depth.
