A nice example of a large sized humidor cabinet. Originally designed for the safe controlled storage of cigars and tobacco related products.
A pair of hinged doors open to reveal a bank of three storage drawers with matching recessed brass campaign style handles. These would have been used to store the cigars. A further drawer is situated to the base of the cabinet which would have been designed for the storage of smoking related accessories.
A top dome shaped section with foil lining would have been used for keeping loose tobacco. Much like a tea caddy, it is foiled lined to protected the wood and the tobacco.
This elegant and versatile piece is now ideal for storing jewellery, watches, cufflinks, keepsakes, trinkets or other small treasured possessions. It could also make a lovely collector's cabinet or decorative humidor-style storage box.
Nice attractive walnut tones make this a wonderful piece to be displayed on a dressing table, desk, sideboard or in a traditional study.
