Antique Wooden Storage Trinket Box Highgate Archway London Souvenir Box

A unique and interesting wooden trinket box which is full of social history. 

The hinged lid to the box is decorated with an image of Highgate Archway and on the interior of the lid reads "Original Series A Genuine Hand coloured engraving 1820 Highgate Archway". It would have likely been a souvenir box that a traveller would have purchased to remember fondly their trip. 

In the bottom of the box is a newspaper cutting about a man who plunged from the bridge, landed on his feet and survived (although the article does go on to say how his height has reduced by some inches due to the impact!).

A lovely collectors box to display or to hold small trinkets, jewellery or collectable items.
