Antique Wooden Oak & Glazed Large Shop Counter Display Cabinet & Drawers c.1930
A superb museum quality shop counter display cabinet dating from circa 1930, constructed in oak and featuring a distinctive sloping glazed display top.
Originally designed for a traditional retail environment, the cabinet combines an impressive glazed merchandise display area with practical drawer storage, making it both highly decorative and functional.
Along the front of the cabinet is a long thin groove area (height 5cm) where an advertising sign or paper card would have been slid in to promote what was on display. This is still perfectly useable for the new owner to make their own sign to fit.
The drawer comes with the original key and working lock.
The sloping glazed top provides excellent visibility of displayed items and gives the cabinet its wonderful period shop-fitting character.
The cabinet would make a fantastic feature in a shop, boutique, jewellery store, gallery or showroom, while also working beautifully in a private home as a collector's display cabinet.
