Antique Wooden Missionary Baptist Society Money Collection Box / Offering c.1930
A charming late early 20th century Missionary society collection box.
Originally would have been used in a church for donations to the missionary society. Designed in the shape of a book and made from wood with a paper cover, the design resembles a standing volume with a coin slot on top.
On one side the box features the wording "Go ye into all the world", a map, illustrations of people from different regions and a list of mission locations including Congo, India and China.
On the other side are illustrations of someone public speaking, teaching and care being given to a gentleman in a hospital bed - along with the complimenting words "Saving the soul, healing the sick, enlightening the mind"
On the underside is the charity details and the previous box holders information.
Now make great collectors pieces - Look nice when you have several of them all with different designs displayed together.
