Antique Victorian Oak Country House Wooden Letter / Post Box / Stationery c.1900

An antique wooden letters box with a glass front and brass detailing to the top. 

This box would have originally been stood in an entrance hall / porch tabletop in a grand home or workspace. Letters would have been deposited through the slot on the top and the glass panel on the front would have allowed the owner to quickly see when a new piece of correspondence was there. 

The top has a brass plaque which reads "Letters" and adds a lovely decorative element to the box. The front has a brass pull handle which lifts the front forward, allowing any contents to easily be retrieved. There is a lock fitted to the front, however no key is present. 

A lovely letters box which will add charm and character to any setting, it would look great in an office space of entrance hall sideboard. A wonderful storage box which would be ideal for holding post again or other stationery / small items.
