Early 20th Century
Tri-ang Gyro Cycle is a mechanical tinplate and celluloid toy made by Lines Bros Ltd.
The fun toy was popular throughout the early 20th century and uses an internal gyroscopic mechanism that allows the two wheeled bicycle to balance and roll forward.
The toy features a red bicycle with wheels reading "Try-ang Cord" with a tin plate figure sitting upon in a green outfit and hat.
The toy is found in the original cardboard box. The box is red in colour and the lid showcases an illustration of the bicycle being ridden along with the writings which reads "The Trang Gyro Cycle - Invention of a Famous Aeroplane Designer". The right hand corner also has the manufacturers logo along with the information "Made in England British Patent Pending".
Dimensions of box: 23cm x 22cm x 7cm
Condition - Lacking the small elastic band that I believe should go around the back wheel and foot pedal sprocket. No little bottle of oil.
