Antique Tabletop Wooden Merrett's Desktop Paper Cutter Guillotine c.1930 Vintage

A desktop paper guillotine cutter marked "Merrett's Patent 123967".

Commonly used in the early to mid 20th century as a stationery cutter or photograph trimmer, the piece features a push down blade rather than a traditional pull down arm. This was favoured in places due to it being considered safer. 

The piece has a safety guard at the top and a measuring element to the side. 

Used in offices, stationery shops, craft rooms or other workspaces - now a great item to sit tabletop and used as intended. Great in an office, study or hobby room.
