Antique Tabletop Victorian Tarpon Fishing Parlour Game in Original Box / c.1895

Late part of the 19th Century

A charming Victorian tabletop 'Parlour" fishing game, complete with its original box. This tabletop game captures the enduring popularity of family pastimes and reflects the simple, well-crafted toy design of the later 19th / early 20th century.

Designed for tabletop play, the game would have provided hours of entertainment in the home.

The fish are placed into the catapult and players must use the nets to try and catch the flying fish. Comes with the wooden and paper lined catapult, 4 fishing nets with wooden handles and lots of fish with different numbed weight lbs on them. On the inside of the lid are the game instruction and a hand written note from when it was originally given as a gift.

The original box adds significant collectable value and helps preserve the game’s period character.

An appealing piece for collectors of vintage board games and antique toys
