Antique Tabletop Hand Carved Wooden Sorrento Ware Triptych Vanity Mirror c.1900

A highly collectable, hand carved Sorrento Ware dressing table mirror. 

Featuring beautiful fretwork and scroll designs, the piece features two hinged side doors that fold inwards. When closed, there are two central inlay images depicting gentlemen in traditional clothing. When opened, the central oval mirror is framed with a patterned border. Above the mirror sits an inlaid medallion depicting a classic scene. The two side panels showcase detailed inlaid wooden panels of flying swallow birds. 

The mirror is fitted with an easel style stand, making it perfect for a tabletop, vanity dresser or sideboard. 

This mirror is originally from Sorrento, Italy which was well known for specialising in tourist and souvenir woodcrafts during the Grand Tour era.
