Antique Society for Propagation of the Gospel Collection Offering Box c.1900

Originally would have been used for collecting coin donations for overseas church missions and would have been distributed to churches, parishes, homes and public spaces. 

The box is shaped to resemble a small gothic style lantern with a domed roof and loop ring at the top. The box features various images of people along with the words "Help the World Wide Church through the General fund of the S.P.G".

The top has blue lettering reading S P G. The base has the original paper which has space for details to be written along with the mission, amount raised and registered address. 

The Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts (SPG) was a prominent 18th to 20th century Anglican missionary organisation.
