Antique Salvaged Fairground Ride Merry Go Round Wooden Carved Horse & Brass Pole
A fantastic and rare antique fairground ride galloping horse figure, dating from the early part of the 20th century, originally would have been mounted on a carousel or merry-go-round for toddlers.
This wonderfully whimsical piece salvaged from an old amusement ride, and has a hand-painted finish with bright, period colours and charming patina. The design perfectly captures the playful, imaginative style of mid-century British fairground art, with sweeping curves and cheerful character.
Crafted in carved wood, this figure makes a striking decorative statement piece—perfect for display in a home, garden, children’s space, bar, or collector’s room.
The brass coloured metal barely twist pole I believe has been added later to it to complete the look it would have had on the ride.
Condition: Good vintage. Paint is in very nice order so likely been touched up over the years. On back leg has some old woodworm holes - Please note this is historic and no signs of recent activity but we have also treated it twice just as a precaution.
