Antique Railwayana - Early 20th Century North Eastern Railway N.E.R Lunchbox
C.1910
This is an original vintage cardboard Light Lunch carton issued by the Refreshment Department of the North Eastern Railway (NER) in the late early 20th century before the company merged into the LNER in 1923.
Decorated with a classic blue-and-white willow pattern, these portable boxes were sold to passengers for meals during long train journeys. The side panel lists the company managed hotels available at the time, including the Royal Station Hotel in York and Hull, and the Zetland Hotel in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.
A great item to add to any railwayana collection.
