Antique Pair of German Black Forest Wooden Picture Frames with Prints of Art

A beautifully presented pair of antique carved wooden frames, each housing a print of renowned 19th-century German artwork

One features “Vesperbrot” by Ludwig Knaus (1829–1910), celebrated for his warm depictions of rural life, while the other displays “Lektüre” by Eduard von Grützner (1846–1925), known for his humorous and characterful genre scenes.

The dark coloured solid carved wooden frames with decorative leaf motifs at the top complement the charm and depth of these classic prints, displaying a fine aged patina that enhances their antique appeal.

Vesperbot, translating to ''evening snack'' or ''evening bread'', is a print of a man holding a variety of vegetables and bread.

Lukture, translating to ''reading'', is a print of a monk looking thoughtful as he reads a book.

They make a striking decorative pair, perfect for traditional interiors, studies or art collections celebrating 19th-century European genre painting.

A charming and characterful duo — these framed prints capture the wit, warmth, and artistry of Germany’s great 19th-century painters, presented in matching antique frames full of craftsmanship and history.

Dimensions: Both are 37cm X 31.5cm

Condition: In nice antique condition - Both ready to wall hang.
