Antique Pair of Art Nouveau Brass Fire Dogs / Andirons – Circa 1900 (Victorian / Edwardian)
A pair of Art Nouveau brass fire dogs, dating from around 1900.. These beautifully crafted pieces would originally have supported logs or coals in an open hearth and now make a striking decorative addition to any fireplace setting.
The firedogs are in a striking gothic fashion featuring a ball and claw in the shape of a bird / eagle leg. They both have floral motifs in typical Art Nouveau style and add character and charm to any setting. The polished brass has developed a warm aged patina, enhancing their authentic antique charm.
Perfect for use with a log burner, open fire, or simply as decorative fireplace accessories in a period or traditional home.
