A fine and characterful antique oak office stationery filing cabinet, produced by the respected maker Henry Stone, dating to circa 1920. Crafted from solid oak, this practical piece reflects early 20th-century office furniture design, combining durability with elegance.
Designed for the organised storage of papers, documents, and office stationery, the cabinet features a well-proportioned interior with smooth-operating compartments, making it ideal for continued use in a home office, study, or as a decorative storage piece.
Inside are the original faux storage book boxes with the paper labelling for Henry stone 'Stones World File'. The inside of the front cover doubles up as a writing slope with a green baize writing surface.
Henry Stone & Son was a respected British furniture and cabinet-making firm founded in Banbury, Oxfordshire, in 1870. The company became well known for producing high-quality office, library and filing furniture. By the late 19th and early 20th centuries, their work was valued for its practical design, solid construction and craftsmanship.
Come complete with key and working lock, plus the coloured key tassel as pictured.
