Antique National Cash Register Cast Iron Metal Receipt Spike / Holder c.1930

A National Cash Register Co. cast iron receipt spike, dating to around 1930. This practical and collectible accessory was designed for use in shops, offices and businesses to securely hold receipts, bills, invoices and notes. It would have proudly stood countertop next to a National cash till, phone or at a welcome desk and would have allowed users to 'spike' documents securely to it for future reference or storing.
The heavy cast iron base features an embossed design incorporating the "National Cash Register Co." name alongside decorative floral detailing. The sturdy central spike remains ideal for keeping papers, notes or receipts safe while the weight of the base also allows it to serve as an effective paperweight.
Ideal in a home office, workspace, retail setting or hospitality area to act as intended or as a decorative accent.
