Antique Mid 20th Century Wright's Medical Vaporizer Set Lamp Original Box c.1950
A mid 20th century vaporizer set which was sold and promoted to treat respiratory issues by heating and vaporising medicated vapour into a room.
The lamp resembles a small burner or lantern and is designed to hols a tea light candle at the base with the liquid being added to the top.
The device was used for treating sore and congested nasal / breathing passages, coughs and other discomforts. The medicated fluid would be warmed and turn to vapour in a room, the user would then inhale to ease symptoms.
The set includes the metal vapour, original cardboard box and a bottle of Wright's vaporizing fluid with instructions of use.
The box is full of further information and detailing and each side should be viewed and studied to fully appreciate. Contains warnings on the top along with a label showing this example was sold by Boots The Chemists along with an address.
With the bold black writing and imagery against the mustard colour background, the original box is eye-catching and a great accompaniment to the vaporiser.
An excellent collectors item to showcase along with other apothecary pieces or science related items. Will look fantastic displayed in a cabinet or shelf adding decor and character to any space. Would also look brilliant in a shop window or display in a pharmacy or apothecary setting.
