Antique Masonic Interest - 20th Century Wooden Lectern & Gavel Block Book Stand
Masonic interest - The style and space of the gavel makes me believe this is Freemason related.
Likely used by the senior member or Master of a lodge - The lectern for important papers to be read from and the gavel & block to get attention. I have sold a set of these shaped gavels before that Masonic symbols on.
An attached carved plaque to the back.
A great collectors piece that would make for an interesting book stand.
