Antique Mahogany Apothecary Box / Cabinet With Glass Medicine Bottles c.1880

Circa 1880

An English 19th century mahogany apothecary box with hinged lid to the top and cupboard below. The lid opens to reveal compartment slots in various sizes which hold different glass apothecary bottles and items. The cupboard below opens to reveal compartment slots and two pull out drawers, all again holding apothecary bottles and tools / equipment.

Enclosed with an arrangement of glass medicine bottles, original boxes and small tins. Collection includes items such as "Spirit of Turpentine", "Boracic Powder", "Iron Jelloids" & a "George Butler & Co. scissors box" along with others not mentioned. A wonderful, interesting collection of history.

The cupboard door is held in place with a clasp on the side. The box also has original brass carry handles on either sides.

A wonderful item for collectors to be displayed and appreciated. Would look fantastic in an antique cabinet or in a sideboard / display cabinet shelf. A great gift idea too.
