This impressive piece features a central double fronted glazed display section, ideal for showcasing treasured items. On either side are additional storage cupboards which decorative hand carved colourful shield panel plates that add a distinctive heraldic charm. These crests are likely related to a university or college where this bookcase was most likely originally manufactured for.
The surround is enhanced with elegant twisted rope carving along the edges, highlighting the quality of the craftsmanship and giving the cabinet a refined, traditional presence.
Below the cupboard section sits a practical arrangement of four drawers, each fitted with ornate original brass pull handles that compliment the warm tones of the oak.
