Antique c.1900 Haberdashery Shop Display Cabinet with Glazed Front & Drawer Storage
A rare and highly attractive circa 1900 antique haberdashery shop display cabinet, combining glazed display cupboards to one side with practical drawer storage to the other. Originally designed for retail use, this substantial piece offers both visual appeal and exceptional functionality.
Crafted in solid wood, the cabinet features glazed fronted cupboards with shelves - ideal for displaying small accessories, or collectibles, while the opposing side houses a series of drawers perfect for organised storage. The glazed sider would originally have faced outwards towards the customer to showcase what was for sale with the drawers facing towards the shopkeeper where they could store the spare stock inside.
The original proportions and thoughtful layout reflect classic turn-of-the-century shop fittings, with a rich, aged patina developed through over a century of use. The cabinet is in two sections which makes it much easier to move around the home or workplace - Currently they are just pushed together but you could easily had some fixings to join them.
