Antique Entrance Hall Bamboo Wood & Tiled Stick and Umbrella Stand / Victorian
A late 19th century Victorian scorched bamboo and ceramic glazed tiled umbrella or stick stand.
The frame features a mottled 'tortoiseshell' bamboo structure and supports the upper panel which consists of dark green ceramic tiles which have a brick style design on them. The back of the tiles feature the makers monogram "JHB" for John. H Barrett - a tile manufacturer prominent in the late Victorian / Art Nouveau era.
At the base is themetal drip tray which has been painted green. Designed to catch water from umbrellas or walking sticks, making the stand both practical and decorative for use in a hallway or entrance.
The top of the stand is sectioned into three, providing organised storage.
A perfect piece to display in any hallway or entrance porch adding character and charm to your interior.
Nice slim size, just right to fill a gap without overpowering any space.

Condition: In good useable order. One of the small little bamboo topper caps is damaged (please see last image) Structurally solid. No cracks or chips to tiles. One tile is out of align.
