Originally used in a bakery or grocers to display the Jacobs cakes and biscuits, this elegant cabinet is a superb example of Edwardian shop-fitting craftsmanship.
Constructed predominantly of glass with wood frame, the cabinet features the original Jacobs advertising beautifully etched into the glass panels, providing exceptional authenticity and advertising appeal. The etched branding instantly identifies the piece as a genuine confectionery display cabinet from one of Britain's most iconic chocolate manufacturers.
Designed for both presentation and practicality, the cabinet retains its original rear hinged opening glass doors, allowing easy access to the contents while keeping stock protected and attractively displayed. The generous glazed display area would have showcased cakes, biscuits, and other confectionery items to customers from the shop counter. The unit retains the original two internal glass shelves and the milk glass base.
A remarkable and increasingly hard-to-find Edwardian display cabinet that would make a stunning centrepiece in a collection, retail setting, museum display, or period interior.
