Manufactured during the early 20th century, the box is a beautiful maroon colour and features a working lock and key - providing secure storage.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a striking maroon leather interior matching the exterior. The lower part of the box is sectioned and labelled for notes, gold and silver. These are accessed with the pull tabs on each section which lifts up to reveal an open space.
There is also a cash and memo book that is held on the interior side of the lid. There is writing and records in them.
On the exterior of the lid is a carry handle and engraved detailing for the original recipient and owner from the person they received it from, it reads "E. M. M from A. A. A." - this is a lovely piece of social history and adds a very personal touch to the box.
A lovely storage box that is ideal for holding coins, jewellery or treasures item. Also a great collectors box to display.

Condition: Good clean order with key and working lock. The cash book papers have come away from the spine. Leather has a few minor scuffs and marks but retains a nice colour.
