Antique Early 20th Century Oak Revolving Bookcase / Book Stand – c.1900
A highly practical and attractive early 20th-century revolving oak bookcase, dating to circa 1900, crafted from solid oak and designed to rotate smoothly for easy access to books from all sides.
This classic Edwardian-era book stand features multiple open shelves, ideal for storing and displaying books, magazines, or sheet music. The revolving design reflects the functional craftsmanship of the period, making it both a decorative and space-saving piece of antique furniture.
The oak has at some point been stripped back to its natural golden colour so now displays in this wonderful mixture on tones with an aged patina and attractive grain, adding character to its design.
Its compact footprint makes it perfect for use in a study, library, living room, or reading corner.
56.5cm X 50cm -- Height 111cm
Shelves are 44cm X 22cm (top shelf does not have a middle divider)
Shelf heights from bottom to top - 34cm // 33cm // 13.5cm
Condition - In good antique condition consistent with age and use. There is general surface wear, minor marks, and signs of historic use. The revolving mechanism functions well but it doesn't sit slightly uneven - I imagine the caster wheels on the base just need slightly adjusting to level it as the mechanism is solid.
DELIVERY - Collection is available for free from North Cambridgeshire if you wish to avoid paying the delivery costs.
