Antique Early 20th Century Large Wood Specimen Collectors Filing Drawer Cabinet
A highly practical and characterful early 20th century specimen collector’s filing cabinet, crafted in stained wood with twin glazed doors.
The inside is designed with 26 shallow drawers with glazed protective tops for organised storage of specimens or small collectables.
Manufactured by P. S. Head of Sudbury.
The aged wood surface displays a rich, time-worn patina, reflecting decades of use and adding to its authentic period charm.
This versatile piece is equally well suited for modern use as an artist’s plan chest, jewellery or watch storage, archive cabinet, or for collectors seeking distinctive and functional antique furniture.
Condition: Good antique condition with age-related wear, marks, and patina consistent with original use. Two drawers missing the glass tops. Comes with key and working lock which is enough to keep the doors shut & secure but they can still be opened if forced as the doors don't quite meet correctly. Would I believe originally have been 30 drawers ant not 26 but at some-point someone has added spacers to the top and bottom of the unit.
