Antique Arts & Crafts W.A.S. Benson Copper Pitcher Jug With Enamel Liner c.1900

c.1900

An Arts & Crafts copper and brass insulated hot water jug, designed and made by W.A.S. Benson (William Arthur Smith Benson).

A cylindrical copper body with a curved cast brass handle and hinged lid - this jug would have been used in Victorian and Edwardian homes to carry and hold hot water.

The inside is enamel lined and has a small air gap between the inner lining and outer body which would have provided thermal insulation.

W.A.S. Benson (William Arthur Smith Benson) was a British designer associated with the Arts & Crafts Movement and was famous for creating innovative metalwork.

A lovely collectors item or home decor. Would look great displayed in a rustic cottage style kitchen with dried flowers displayed inside.

Dimensions: Height 24cm x Base diameter 14cm

Condition: Good with typical light age and use wear.

Item No. 9447
