Antique Art Deco Reclaimed / Salvaged Building / Door Exit Sign / Blue c.1930
An original antique Art Deco EXIT sign / hatch dating from around the 1930s, salvaged from an older commercial or public building. Most likely used in a cinema or pub building where there would be lots of footfall and require a clear, yet decorative and appealing sign.
Featuring classic geometric Art Deco styling with a striking late added blue finish, this piece has excellent period character and would make a superb addition to an architectural salvage collection, industrial interior, film prop display, café, bar, studio, or vintage-inspired home décor setting. Looks amazing with the light shining through it.
The sign is oval in shaped and contracted with a painted metal frame. Hinges to the front panel create the hatch - Likely would have had this hatch to allow easy change of possibly a lightbulb that would have been behind it for illumination.
The sign shows authentic age-related wear consistent with decades of use, adding to its genuine antique appeal and reclaimed industrial aesthetic.
