Antique Art Deco Bakelite EBCO Patent Bookcase / Collapsable Book Stand c.1930

This small bookcase stand is a wonderful example of Art Deco design which was popular.ar throughout the 1930's. Manufactured by the company EBCO, this stand is made from Bakelite plastic which was a preferred material of the time.
Collapsable, the stand breaks down easily with the back and side panels being easily removed.
The sides are rounded at the top and have stepped detailing on the sides, a distinctive feature of the Art Deco period.
The item is embossed with the makers mark reading "The EBCO Patent Bookcase".
Perfect to sit tabletop in an office, library, dining room or lounge this piece will proudly hold and display your favoured books, volumes and other treasured items.
