Antique Advertising - Wooden Players Coin Operated Cigarette Vending Machine
1930s / 40s
A collectible vintage cigarette vending machine, designed to be wall mounted or tabletop stood. Once a common item in pubs, diners, clubs and airports, these machines are now great pieces of advertising and social history.
The black painted wooden cabinet features the iconic Player's sailor trademark and branding. On the side, "Players Weights Cigarettes" can easily been read. On the front, there is an example image of cigarette pack which reads the cigarettes were "made from Pure Virginia Tobacco".
The machine also retains the coin slot, mechanisms and pull out drawer to retrieve the packet of cigarettes. It also has a working lock and key to securely close the machine. The machine is in good working order still operating on the old English penny coins.
These now make a wonderful decorative pieces and make a statement in any interior / setting. Perfect in a garage, man cave, kitchen or retail space adding character.
A great collectors piece of antique advertising and tobacco memorabilia.
