Antique Advertising - Wooden Carr's Biscuit Two Tier Shop Display Stand / Shelf

Early 20th Century 

A great piece of antique advertising, this two tiered wooden shop display would have been proudly placed countertop in a convenience / grocery store to promote and sell Carr's biscuits. 

Made up of two tiers, the open backed stand is perfect size to sit counter or tabletop and be accessible from both sides. The idea being, the customer would view the biscuits displayed while making their choice, the shop worker would then be able have access to the tins and boxes of biscuits from the back to dispense. 

To the top is the tin advertising sign which reads 'Carr's biscuits' with the royal crest above. Underneath the tin sign is a beaded decorative edge. The sides of the stand have cup brass handles, making it easy to move. 

The stand holds two advertising tins with glass tops to showcase contents. The red tin is advertising Huntley & Palmers and the blue is for Carr's. 

This confectionery stand would have originally been found in local shops to promote the well recognised biscuits. Now it makes for a wonderful decorative accent in a home or retail space. An ideal way to display a collection of advertising tins, to add character to a kitchen interior or in a retro style shop. 

A wonderfully unique item which offers storage space and charm.

Condition: Good useable order with marks and scuffs typical of age and use.
