An impressive and highly collectible very large vintage AA (Automobile Association) garage lightbox sign, dating to circa 1950. Beautifully restored and in full working order, this striking piece is a true statement item with strong visual impact.
The sign was purchased by the previous owner in the 1980s in a very poor state and it has since been fully restored. Unfortunately much of the original sign was not salvageable so it is now fitted with perspex panels rather than what would originally have likely been glass. All of the electric working are also replaced and the frame and brackets resprayed.
Designed for wall mounting, the sign can also be free-standing, making it versatile for a wide range of display settings. The bold AA graphics illuminate superbly when lit, creating an authentic period look that’s perfect for garages, showrooms, bars, studios, or commercial interiors.
