A vintage Stotherts lithography advertising tin for chemist products. Likely a promotional sales tool in a shop, this tin was likely used as a free gift with purchases or used in a shop that sold the chemist items so purchases would be tied and secured with string cut from the tin, while promoting the items.
The top of the tin features a hole in the centre for the string to pass through.
Beautifully printed on all sides and the top, the tin promotes the chemist products various remedies, including Chest & Lung Mixture and Black & Kidney Pills. The lid also promotes other pills that can be obtained from the Stotherts lines. On one side is the iconic branding, typography and scroll like elements along with a portrait of a bearded man. The tin is in a lovely teal blue finish which contrasts against the bright vibrant colours used throughout the tins advertising.
A fantastic collectors item, this tin would look fantastic as part of a collection of other advertising tins.
An ideal piece to sit sideboard or countertop, retail space, haberdashery or craft setting. A great way of adding charm, history and character to any setting.

Condition: Good. Age and use related wear as to be expected. Lid doesn't quite close flush but fine for use still.
