Antique Advertising - Shop Display Glass Meredith & Dew Biscuit Jar & Blue Lid

A highly collectable and decorative shop counter biscuit jar with lid made for Meredith & Dew biscuits.
The clear glass would have proudly shown and displayed the biscuits while it sat countertop in a grocery store. The jar reads "M & D Biscuits Meredith & Drew" in a deep rich blue colour while the blue lid is embossed "Meredith & Dew LTD. London".
The jar is an iconic piece of advertising used for biscuits and confectionery of the time, drawing customers in and encouraging sales. Shop keepers would have dispensed biscuits into bags from the jar, continuously restocking it.
A lovely collectors item that would look great displayed in a cabinet with other advertising pieces, confectionery collectables, kitchenalia or shop display items. Also an ideal way to hold small items or to add decor to a country style / rustic kitchen.
