Antique Advertising - Redgate Table Waters Shop Display Showcard Sign c.1940
Early to mid 20th Century
An original advertising showcard for Redgate Table waters, a mineral water and fruit drink manufacturer based in Nottingham during the 19th and 20th Century.
The sign displays a blue gradient background, with the top being a deep blue and the bottom being light. The sign features contrasting writing in red and yellow, reading "Redgate Table Waters The Acknowledged Best Since 1878!".
The centre of the sign shows detailed pictorial images or the iconic Lemonade and Orange Crush drinks in their glass bottles and branding. To the side of this is the well recognised branding of the red gate image with the words "Trade Mark" around it.
Eye-catching and bursting with colour and detail, this is a fantastic collectors item for anyone interested in antique advertising, kitchenalia or promotional showcards.
Showcards like this would have been distributed to grocery stores and general stores across England during the mid 20th century to encourage and promote sales of the items.
The sign would look great in a cottage / rustic style home, kitchen or vintage interior cafe.
