Early 20th century
An original early 20th century advertising showcard produced for Morris Evans.
Printed by - Holloway & Son Ltd of Bristol.
Morris Evans produced veterinary and household oils and ointments in Wales - often associated with Merionethshire/Ffestiniog and chemist shop displays during the early 1900s.
Printed in paper and mounted on card, this promotional display features an illustrated scene of anthropomorphic cattle (a cow and bull dressed in human clothing). The cow holds a bottle of Morris Evans' Oil, and the caption at the bottom is in Welsh: "Wn I Ddim Beth Wnai Mistar Heb Hwn" (meaning "I don’t know what master would do without this"
The showcard is designed for wall hanging in a display in retailers shops. Still retains a hanging loop to the back.
Constructed from printed card, it retains nice colours and visual impact.
