Antique Advertising - OXO Promotional Playing Cards c.1940 / Complete Set in Box

A rare vintage promotional pack of playing cards produced for the iconic British brand OXO.
Promotional items such as this were produced to reinforce brand recognition in the home, making them both practical and memorable advertising pieces.
The cards are housed in their original white cardboard box, boldly printed in red with the “OXO” logo and the wording “Playing Cards.” The rear of the box has a pictorial of an OXO bottle and the brand name and logo running through the centre. The cards sit in the base of the box and these slide into the top cover.
The playing cards themselves feature a striking reverse design, with the red OXO logo at the centre, surrounded by a graphic black-and-white pattern, along with the OXO bottle again.
A highly collectible piece of mid-20th-century British advertising ephemera, ideal for collectors of OXO memorabilia, vintage playing cards or advertising history.
