A vintage Melrose's tea lithography advertising tin. Likely a promotional sales tool in a shop, this tin was likely used as a free gift with purchases or used in a shop that sold the tea to tie shopping / purchases with the string while at the same time promote the tea.
The top of the tin features a metal mount designed to hold a razor blade for cutting string, with a hole in the centre for the string to pass through.
Beautifully printed on all four sides, the tin promotes the tea and reads "Quality and Flavour Always the Same", "Melrose's Pure Coffee" & "Vacuum Packed for Perfect Freshness" along with other information. The contrasting colours used, along with the pictorial imagery of coffee can and boxes of tea make this an eye-catching and decorative piece.
A fantastic collectors item, this tin would look fantastic as part of a collection of other advertising tins, tea and coffee tins and kitchenalia.
An ideal piece to sit sideboard or countertop in a country style kitchen, cafe, bistro, haberdashery or craft setting. A great way of adding charm, history and character to any setting.
