Antique Advertising - Macfarlane Lang & Co Mozart Casket Biscuit Tin c.1910
Mid 20th Century
An antique Macfarlane Lang & Co biscuit tin known as the "Mozart Casket" which was produced c.1910 by Barring, Wallis & Manners for Macfarlane Lang & Co.
The lid features an embossed reproduction of a painting by August Borckmann showing Mozart and his sister performing. The box has carved decorative edging along the image on the top, on the front panel and sides.
A wonderful decorative item that would have been sold as a promotional item containing the well recognised and renowned Macfarlane biscuits. The tin would have then been kept and proudly displayed within a kitchen, sideboard or pantry.
Based marked with the markers stamp reading 'Macfarlane Lang & Co. LTD London & Glasgow' along with the Royal crest by appointment.
A lovely collectors item to accompany other advertising pieces, kitchenalia or tins. Also perfect for adding character and charm to a kitchen, cottage / rustic interior or cafe.
Dimensions: 23cm x 15cm x Height 9cm
Condition: Good antique order. Hinges to the tin work well. Age and use related wear all over. Please see images.
