An antique advertising stoneware butter crock from the Edwardian era of advertising. Pots like this were produced and used as grocery or dairy packaging for items such as butter or tea.
The pot is salt glazed white stoneware with transfer printed black lettering reading "LIPTON" and has a dipped honey brown glazed rim. To the back is the pottery mark reading "Port-Dundas Glasgow Pottery Co." and shows the pot can hold up to 2 LB of contents.
A lovely item that creates a rustic farmhouse, cottage appeal. Ideal used as a utensil holder, small planter or collectors item.
