A wonderful example of an early 20th century enamel advertising sign for Farrow's A1 Mustard.
Established by Joseph Farrow Sr. in 1840, the company intitially produced mushroom ketchup (a popular Victorian condiment) from a small factory in Parson Drove near Wisbech & Guyhirn, Cambridgeshire.
Later expanding into other factories in the area and with Joseph Farrow Jr. as head of the business, the production of mustard commenced in 1888. Farrow Jr. was keen to break the duopoly on the mustard trade, which at the time was controlled by Colmans of Norwich.
Deep navy blue typography on a punchy yellow ground and navy border.
Beautifully worn with that typical aged patina all over.
Great piece - Perfect to add that antique charm to any kitchen.
This sign was bought as a group of items from a private collection.

Wear consistent with age and outride use all over.
Discolouration mothering to the Farrow's wording.
