Early 20th Century c.1920
An antique ceramic advertising match stick holder and striker for Bass in Bottle. It would have been distributed during the early 20th century era to pubs, hotels and bars to sit countertop advertising the ale produced by the British company.
It features a white body with green detailing and writing along with the reed triangle trade mark. The piece combines the matchbox holder, side ashtray wells and striking surface.
The base is stamped and reads "Mintons England" and "The property of Bass & co Ltd. Burton-on-Trent". Mintons was an iconic and well know British pottery / ceramic manufacturer.
Ideal as a unique display piece or for use in a period inspired setting, it adds a touch of character to any home or collection.
